Dr. James K. Rotchford - Medical Bio and Resume

Dr. Rotchford is one of few physicians in the United States with extensive experience and expertise in helping patients with co-morbid, chemical dependencies and chronic, complex pain problems.

His clinic in Port Townsend, OPAS, is a regional referral center for patients struggling with pain or addictions. His approaches are innovative and based on the best medical evidence available.

In addition to being board certified in Addiction Medicine and immediate Past President of the Washington Society of Addiction Medicine, Dr. Rotchford also has background in Public Health and is a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine. He is passionate and qualified to speak of systems approach and what the scientific literature supports and what it does not in terms of care for addictions.

He has spoken at state, national, and international meetings on subjects related to addiction. In addition to his extensive experience and expertise in evaluating scientific papers, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture and goes outside the “conventional box” to help patients safely and effectively.

His work has required extensive familiarity with regional and national regulators. He is quite familiar with and able to speak extensively about deficiencies in our current system.   His focus will be on solutions as it is in his clinical care of patients.
